Water Resources Planning

From 2000 to 2002, TCPS worked with other statewide organizations on water resource issues across Texas.

As part of this effort, we host an annual statewide water conference every spring. This year's conference, "Community and Economic Benefits of Texas Rivers, Springs and Bays", explored the reasons and options for protecting essential river and spring flows and freshwater inflows to Texas bays and estuaries. As of October 2002, the water resources staff at TCPS joined the Texas office of Environmental Defense. TCPS' previous efforts, including the statewide water conference and the periodic publication of the Texas Water Policy Update, will continue under the guise of Environmental Defense.
